In choosing a name for my Staging business, I wanted to incorporate past and present. Decades ago, after completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Composition at the University of Oregon, I played in a variety of bands, the first of which was an all-female rock-and-roll band named Sapphire.
Nine years later, seven months pregnant and hiding behind my Yamaha Electric Grand piano, I performed professionally for the last time in the Seattle area.
